Kayanja bounces back after long injury layoff
Injuries are every athlete's worst nightmare but when they strike, how the athlete deals with the situation determine their progress.
Striker Brian Kayanja currently on a six month loan deal at Maroons FC from KCCA FC explains that his long knee injury layoff was a huge setback but he is glad he is back on his feet.
"I joined KCCA FC in late July 2021 about the time we were preparing for the CECAFA Kagame cup," Kayanja told Pulse Sports.
"I remember we pitched camp in Njeru and unfortunately I picked up a meniscus tear in my knee but I am happy I am back after a while out."
Having sat out an entire season, Kayanja decided to go out on loan and get back his scoring touch at a club where he can take it game by game.
"It was an easy decision for me to join Maroons FC because I know the coach (Mohammed Ssenfuma) and also I know several players I've played with at other clubs so it felt like family," Kayanja said.
The former Sofapaka FC, Soltilo Bright Stars and UPDF FC forward will now be tasked with leading Maroons FC's frontline like it was the case while at UPDF FC where he scored 7 goals before his move to KCCA FC in 2021.
