KCCA FC star talisman Muhammad Shaban received a yellow card as his team thrashed NEC FC on Wednesday in the Uganda Premier League.

He was carded as the teams returned for the second half as he expressed dissatisfaction for an earlier incident where defender Geriga Atendele pushed him onto goalkeeper Samson Kiirya's shoe, for a head injury.

Shaban was making three yellows in 12 games since he missed the Busoga United game in November 2023 through suspension. KCCA would go on to lose 2-1.

He is now set to sit the massively anticipated bout with Vipers SC slated for March 15 at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

"There's nothing we can negotiate about that (yellow), he has got a card and we'll have to use the ones available," he told the press after the NEC game.

"We can't lament about it. He came into the game well knowing that if he gets another card he's to miss the next game," the visibly dejected Mubiru added.

While the game is two weeks away, KCCA will have to look for solutions to Shaban's absence.

Shaban is currently the joint top-scorer with Soltilo Bright Stars marksman Nelson Senkatuka with eleven goals.
