Kelechi Iheanacho thanks Leicester City for 7 years: Super Eagles celebrates Foxes tenure

There is news about Super Eagles of Nigeria star Kelechi Iheanacho.

The forward has been the sensation for the off-season following his switch from the Premier League to La Liga

Iheanacho, who left Leicester City at the end of the previous season, put an end to rumors about his future on Wednesday by completing a free transfer to Sevilla.

The 27-year-old and the Spanish club inked a two-year contract.

Iheanacho chose Sevilla over teams in England, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia despite their interest in him because of their clear plan for him.

Iheanacho led Leicester City in scoring with six goals and three assists in the previous campaign.

Iheanacho joined Leicester City on a massive transfer from Manchester City.

After playing for seven years with the Foxes, he took to social media to thank Leicester City for his time.

Along with photos of winning the FA Cup Premier League and the Community Shield was a message that said, "@LCFC Thank you for the 7 years we shared, I’ll forever cherish our 2021 FA Cup win.

"Thanks to the owners who brought me to the club, all of my teammates in those years and the amazing foxes fans!! All the best for the new season 💙🦊."

Iheanacho is expected to return to the Super Eagles fold ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
