An Alex Kitata brace was enough to sink the Royals, while Denis Omedi's consolation was quite not enough to overturn the result.

Kitara FC is seeking a domestic double

The two sides meet again later today in Masindi, with both sides chasing the 2023/2024 UPL championship.

Kitara lead proceedings with 43 points, while BUL are the current runners-up with 39 after 21 games.

"The game will be very difficult because we take on the second-placed team," said assistant head coach Issa Sserwanja told the club media.

"They beat us in the first round but we have used the two-week international break to tactically prepare the boys for the win."

"Victory will mean everything for us. We are not ready to lose and we shall do whatever we can in this match to win."

"Our targets of finishing in the top five positions remain unchanged," Sserwanja summed.

Meanwhile, Kitara has never beaten BUL in the UPL, with the latter winning twice, while the other encounter ended in a stalemate.
