Kitara coach Ssenyondo fired up ahead of clash with Vipers, rules out seven players

Kitara FC play host to Stanbic Uganda Cup defending champions Vipers SC on Sunday at the Masindi Municipal Stadium in their first of the two games between the sides (different competitions) in less than a week.

The two sides will battle for a spot in the semifinals of the Uganda Cup with the day's winner poised to take it all.

For their clash with the Venoms, Kitara head coach Brian Ssenyondo has stressed that his team will do whatever it takes to win, to identify themselves as among the big boys.

"It's a difficult against the defending champions, but if you desire to show you're strong, you have to beat the strong teams," Ssenyondo told the club media.

"They (Vipers) will come with a purpose to defend their title, because they are the champions but we're prepared to win this game."

While he identified four players including Brian Aheebwa, Arthur Kiggundu, Chrispus Kusiima and George Senkaaba, Ssenyondo underlined seven players are set to be absent for the tie.

"We have seven players injured like Brian, Arthur, Senkaaba, Kusiima, but we have prepared well to beat that challenge."

"We've lost five points out of a possible six in the previous two matches, so we need to bounce back with a win."

After tomorrow's encounter, Kitara and Vipers will meet again in the Uganda Premier League at the same grounds on April 19.
