Kitende head coach appointed She Cranes assistant ahead of UK test series
The Uganda Netball Normalisation Committee has appointed St. Mary's Secondary School, Kitende head coach Nourdine Kato as deputy to Fred Mugerwa for the senior women's netball team, the She Cranes.
Mugerwa has singlehandedly been in charge of the She Cranes in the recent past, but will now have an assistant.
The developments come at a time when the She Cranes are gearing up for the forthcoming England-organized Vitality Netball Nations Cup slated for January.
It should be noted that Kato has been the hand behind Kitende's recent triumphs and dominance of netball in schools in the country.
Kitende are the schools' 2023 netball champions in both Uganda and East Africa, and they have achieved the feats under Kato's watch.

The national team appointment comes as a reward for his vast knowledge and experience in the game, and he will hope to gain even more given the stage and nature competitions to be played.
Meanwhile, the Normalisation Committee continues to run netball affairs after the National Council of Sports (NCS) withdrew the Certificate of Recognition from the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF).
As such, Uganda missed out on the African Netball Championships in Botswana but is now keen on a strong show in the UK test series.
