"We are excited to report that Denis Balungu has agreed to return to KIU Titans, two years after he left the club," the club announced Thursday morning.
The Congolese has been playing for Gymkhana in Burundi and will add shooting to the Titans roster.
"We have signed Denis Balungu. Balungu is a former Titan, so he's returning home. He's a good shooter of the ball and a great rebounder at the same time. He brings energy and good defence," KIU President Nasser Sserunjogi said.
Balungu first moved to the Titans in 2017 from Lower Division side LC Hovers and was part of the team that played in the finals that same year.
He would later switch to Power in 2020 before COVID-19 halted all sports activities.
His return to Kansanga in 2021 was also affected by the pandemic, and he moved to Burundi for greener pastures.
With Isaiah Ater Mabeny and Innocent Ochera already in the team, KIU have added another lethal weapon from the perimeter and will worry the opposition.
The club has also announced the departure of shooting guard Ahmed Kassa.

Having finished the first round with a 9-2 record and in second place on the log, Julius Lutwama's charges will be fighting to go top before the regular season ends.
The arrivals of Saidi Amisi, Peter Obleng and Ochera at the start of the season placed KIU in a position where they are expected to challenge City Oilers for the championship this year.
