Kizz Daniel laments arrest by CAF: Explains AFCON draw no-show in Cote d'Ivoire

Kizz Daniel explains the AFCON draw, not arrested by CAF
Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, better known by his stage name Kizz Daniel, has responded to reports that he was detained in Ivory Coast for failing to appear at a concert after receiving payment.
Kizz Daniel reportedly was set to perform at the AFCON draw ceremony hosted by Senegalese-American singer, record producer, and entrepreneur Akon.
The Nigerian musician claimed that despite a contract he and his agent signed with the client that stated "no money, no performance.
He still traveled to play unpaid although he experienced a similar problem in Tanzania the previous year.
In a statement posted to his Instagram page, Kizz Daniel made this disclosure and said the show's organizers used the pretext of a "bank transaction delay" as an explanation.
However, he said that after his team was attacked backstage when he first arrived in the country in West Africa, he event tried to perform although he hadn't received his pay.

He wrote, “The agent signed my contract which states “no money no performance”
“I agreed to fly in regardless, after so many appeal and of cuz excuses on bank transfer delay with the promise of receiving the money upon arrival in Abidjan
“Till now no payment, not even the alleged amount mentioned I still chose to support CAF and went ahead to the venue to perform without payment, but unfortunately my 3 min performance slot was up.
“My team were assaulted back stage and i decided to take my leave
“I am not arrested by CAF OR DETAINED WHATSOEVER .I AM FINE AND HEADING TO LONDON FOR MY SHOW NOV 12, OVO ARENA, WEMBLEY.”

In Kizz Daniel's absence, there was Nigerian representation as former Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi performed as a draw assistant.
Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, actress and activist Yemi Eberechi Alade also featured in the closing of the show.
Kizz Daniel has been involved in football in the past as he performed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
