Man City Striker Erling Haaland Picks Up Unexpected Injury Involving a Bus
Erling Haaland became a victim of an incident that occurred during preparations for the World Cup qualifier between Norway and Moldova.
Erling Haaland, one of Norway's star players, sustained a minor injury while boarding the team bus. The striker bumped into the door as he was exiting the hotel, resulting in a bleeding lip.
The Manchester City striker even required medical attention upon arrival at the hotel. Erling Haaland received three stitches to his lip and appears to have a scar from his encounter with the bus's luggage door.
The Norwegian striker posted a selfie on Instagram with the caption: "Just got a hit from the bus door, three stitches in my lip."
Some fans initially thought he had been struck by a teammate, and Erling Haaland played along. "Only wrong answers," he wrote in his story, before confirming with a laughing emoji that it was indeed fellow countryman Martin Odegaard.
Impact of Erling Haaland Injury
However, Erling Haaland's upcoming matches for both Norway and Manchester City do not appear to be in jeopardy. On Tuesday, he is set to face Moldova with the Norwegians in a qualifier for the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Norway currently leads Group I, ahead of Israel and Italy.
Erling Haaland has also started strongly for Manchester City this season. The Norwegian striker has already scored three goals in the first three matches of the new Premier League season (one against Brighton & Hove Albion, two against Wolverhampton Wanderers).
However, Manchester City has already lost twice, placing them 13th in the Premier League. In total, Erling Haaland has played 43 international matches for Norway, scoring 42 goals in those games.
