The Portuguese coach’s rapid impact at Old Trafford has reignited belief among fans and brought a long-awaited sense of momentum to the club.

Amorim sparks United revival with flawless October

It’s been a while since Manchester United fans had something to cheer about, but Ruben Amorim’s October changed that.

The Red Devils won all three league games, including a thrilling 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, a 4-2 triumph over Brighton, and a composed 2-0 win at Sunderland.

Those results gave United a +5 goal difference and lifted them back up the table. “The credit is not mine, the credit is for my players,” Amorim said modestly after winning the award.

He becomes the first Manchester United boss to win since Erik ten Hag in November 2023, and the sixth Portuguese manager ever to do so, joining Mourinho, Nuno, and Villas-Boas among others.

Arteta snubbed despite Arsenal’s perfect record

Mikel Arteta might feel unlucky after his Arsenal side also won all three games in October, beating West Ham, Fulham, and Crystal Palace without conceding a single goal.

Remarkably, goalkeeper David Raya faced just one shot on target in that run. Yet Amorim’s turnaround story was seen as the greater achievement, with his results carrying more emotional weight given United’s earlier struggles.

Arteta, already a five-time winner of the award, will be frustrated but remains firmly in the title hunt as Amorim enjoys his first taste of Premier League recognition.
