Manchester United: Slovenian Reports Emerge as Ruben Amorim Voices Worry Over Benjamin Sesko Injury

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has expressed his concern after striker Benjamin Sesko sustained a knee injury during the club's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Slovenian international, who came on as a second-half substitute, was forced off late in the game, leaving United to finish with 10 men after all substitutions had been made. The draw was ultimately secured by a last-gasp header from Matthijs de Ligt.

Before his injury, Benjamin Sesko had a significant opportunity to put Manchester United ahead when the score was 1-1, but a crucial challenge from Micky van de Ven thwarted his effort. Bryan Mbeumo had initially opened the scoring for the visitors.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Ruben Amorim admitted the potential severity of the injury was his primary worry.

"I'm concerned with an injury because it is in the knee, and I don't know," the manager stated. "We need Ben [Sesko] to be a better team. We have to check. He has something in his knee. Let's see."

However, reports emerging from Benjamin Sesko's native Slovenia suggest the damage may not be as severe as first feared. According to Sportklub, preliminary scans did not reveal a "worrying condition," though the club is awaiting a definitive diagnosis.

The Slovenian outlet noted that "only an MRI scan will show the full picture" and that Manchester United "remain cautious for now." A final verdict on the striker's condition is expected after further examinations are completed.

Benjamin Sesko was not the only player to leave the pitch with an injury. Defensive mainstays Harry Maguire and Casemiro were also withdrawn in the 72nd minute, replaced by Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte. Maguire, in particular, appeared to be in visible discomfort before the substitution.

"When we have to take out Maguire and Casemiro at the same time, then suffer two goals, then losing Ben, you have to overcome everything," Amorim added, highlighting the challenges his team faced during the match.
