The chances of the Uganda Cranes qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast are hanging by a thread.

And head coach Milutin' Micho Sredojevic is having sleepless nights with a month to go until the two nations face off in September.

"The game against Niger is significant for us in our ambition to qualify for the next AFCON," Micho said while appearing on NBS Sport before adding.

"I am giving it all my preference and hard work, and it is giving me sleepless nights," the Serbian admitted.

After losing three games already in the qualifiers, the Cranes are positioned third in Group F with four points, three adrift of Tanzania, who are on seven points and 11 behind Algeria, who are on 15 points and have already qualified as group leaders.

When Niger and Uganda went head to head in the first leg, they drew 1-1 at St. Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
