In Tanzania, all the big clubs in Simba, Young Africans and Azam FC have already led the way in sending off their players and officials whose contracts won't be renewed as they create space for the new faces.

The Ice-cream makers set the pace for the clear out, releasing ten players, including officials like the goalkeeper coach Dani Cadena and the fitness coach Dr Moadh Hiraoui.

Bruce Kangwa and Aggrey Morris are the prominent faces who departed the Chamazi-based side.

Simba SC

A team probably with the most veterans, Msimbazi started with the technical bench, parting ways with the Simba Queen's head coach Charles Lukula Ayeikoh, who was joined by the goalkeeper coach of the men's team Chlouha Zakaria.

Fitness coaches Kelvin Mandla and Freed Cassiem also departed, while for the players, Augustine Okrah was the first to leave after failing to nail a starting berth due to injuries.

Victor Akapn, Mohammed Ouattara and Nelson Okwa were also shown the exit.

The big exits, however, are combative midfielder Jonas Mkude, Erasto Nyoni and goalkeeper Benard Kakolanya.

Mkude played 13 seasons for Msimbazi, while veteran and versatile player Erasto Nyoni featured for six seasons.

Goalkeeper Beno Kakolanya, who joined Simba from Young Africans in 2019, has been playing second fiddle to Aish Manula.

Young Africans

The back-to-back treble champions started the off-season on a harsh note with the departure of head coach Nabi Nasreddine who opted not to renew his contract; goalkeeper coach Brazilian Milton Nienov joined him.

The club also confirmed the departure of Twisila Kisinda, Dickson Ambundo and controversial Ghanaian forward Bernard Morrison, who rejoined from arch-rivals Simba SC at the start of the campaign.

As the start of the new season nears, more changes, especially in recruits, will be made.
