Mourinho rejects Brazil

The role of Brazil's head coach has been rife with instability in recent years, with three coaches having assumed the position since 2023. The latest was Dorival Junior, who was dismissed after he led Brazil to a disgraceful 4-1 defeat to their biggest rivals, Argentina.

The CBF have been on a search for a replacement since, and have reportedly contacted multiple high profile targets, including Jose Mourinho.

However, according to Duncan Castles, per Ntvspor, the Portuguese tactician rejected their approach, opting to continue at Fenerbahçe.

Mourinho has laid out his plan previously, stating that he eyed a return to the Premier League after completing his two-year contract with the Yellow Canaries. He has also expressed a desire to coach the Yellow Canaries.

Other options for Brazil

The CBF was also said to have approached Al Hilal's Juan Jesus, as well as Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti. Ancelotti has been a long-term target for them, but he has publicly denied interest in coaching them on multiple occasions, expressing his desire to continue as Los Blancos coach for as long as possible.

However, following their embarrassing exit from the Champions League to Arsenal, there are reports that Ancelotti will leave the club. This could make him available to Brazil's advances.
