Uganda advanced to the second round after a hard-fought 4-3 aggregate victory over neighbours Rwanda earlier in July.

The team was expected to run over Rwanda comfortably but had to depend on Fazillah Ikwaput’s late goal deep in the extra time to separate the two.

Nabweteme concurs that Rwanda’s resilience shocked them and now warns for better preparations to face a more fancied Cameroon team.

“Rwanda’s performance shocked us in a way because we didn’t expect them to push us that far,” Nabweteme acknowledged during an interview with NBS Sport.

“We have to prepare very well to be able to match Cameroon because they have good professional players who play in very good leagues out there,” she warned.

The two sides are scheduled to face in a two-legged encounter between October 23rd and 31st.

The winner of the contest will date their equivalent in the tie between Ethiopia and Nigeria.
