Ndidi integral as Leicester show readiness for Liverpool clash with third straight victory
Leicester City left it late to beat Bristol City to clinch their third straight victory in the Championship ahead of their EFL Cup clash against Liverpool.
The Foxes kept hold of their place at the top of the log with their victory at the Kings Power against the Robins in their bid to return to the English top flight.
how it happened
Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi started the match, while his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho took a spot on the bench.
Enzo Maresca's side started with a pop, taking the game to their opposition and creating goalscoring chances early on, with the Ghanaian winger on loan from Sporting Abdul Fatawu looking the liveliest. Despite the dominance, however, the game remained goalless at half-time.
The hosts continued to dictate proceedings upon resumption, with Stephy Mavididi and Kieran Drewsbury-Hall both firing at goal early on.
Ndidi, who has had a brilliant game, was fouled in the box by Kal Naismith, and Jamie Vardy dispatched the resulting penalty without fuss.
Kelechi Iheanacho came in in the 88th minute for the former Premier League Golden Boot winner, as the Foxes completed the victory.
