Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing Lionel Messi in the Champions League wins record.
The German international secured his 100th victory in the competition after a stellar performance in Bayern's group stage opener against Chelsea.
Neuer's historic milestone
Neuer reached the century mark in his 151st Champions League appearance, a feat that places him in an exclusive club of football legends.

The win against Chelsea was a major step for the German side in their 2025/26 campaign and a personal "crowning achievement" for the veteran goalkeeper.
The record for most Champions League wins is held by Cristiano Ronaldo with 115 wins, Thomas Müller with 111 wins, and Iker Casillas with 101 wins.
With his 100th win, Neuer leapfrogs Lionel Messi, who has 85 Champions League victories to his name.
Neuer's journey to this milestone began with his Champions League debut for Schalke 04 in 2007.
However, the majority of his wins have come with Bayern Munich, the club he joined in 2011. With Bayern, he has won the Champions League twice (in 2013 and 2020), both as part of a historic treble.
