New date for Villa, Vipers clash revealed

After over a month in the dark, SC Villa and Vipers SC have learned the date for their titanic Uganda Premier League clash.

The two will face off on April 9 at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, as the race for the championship heats up.

The game was initially postponed after Villa's request, as they had players with the Uganda U20 team national team for the African Games.

The record holders fronted players Jonah Patrick Kakande, Abasi Kyeyune, Cyrus Kibande and Hakim Mutebi as the players with the Hippos, and encounter was thus pushed from the original February 24 date.

It should be recalled that the first round bout between the two ended in a one-all stalemate as Gavin Kizito scored for Villa, with Patrick Paul Mbowa netting for the Venoms.

Villa is currently placed fourth on the UPL table with 36 points accumulated in 19 games.

However, the Kitende side, who are the defending champions, sit a place behind, with 35 points in 19 matches.
