New season, same Ibrahim Kasule as he stars for New York Red Bulls 2
Following a brilliant debut campaign with New York Red Bulls 2, Uganda Cranes youngster Ibrahim 'Baba' Kasule got off the 2024 campaign on a high note for his side in the MLS Next Pro.
Kasule played 90 minutes and managed two assists as New York Red Bulls 2 comfortably beat Columbus Crew II 2-0 in the first match of the season on Sunday.
Kasule assisted Wikelman Carmona with a composed layoff in the 11th minute to put his team in front, on enemy territory.
The 20-year-old then set through American Roald Mitchell in the 83rd minute for the Red Bulls.
I dedicate these two assists to Ngeye clan 🇺🇬.

His compatriot, Steven Sserwadda, who was released by New York Red Bulls, played 65 minutes before getting replaced by Dylan Sullivan.
However, forward Frank Ssebuufu was a no-show in the matchday squad with no explanation from the Ibrahim Ssekagya-coached team.
Meanwhile, it should be recalled that Kasule netted 17 league goals with six assists in 27 matches for New York Red Bulls 2 last season.
He earned a lift to the senior team where he made one appearance in the Major League Soccer (MLS), a league that harbours the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and a host of other global superstars.
Kasule was also named in the MLS Next Pro Team of the Season and was the only player from his side to make the cut.
