Nigeria's Flamingos romp to 6-0 win against Central African Republic in FIFA U17 WWC qualifier
Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, notched an emphatic away victory against Central African Republic, CAR, in the first leg of their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, WWC, qualifier on Sunday.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the Nigerian women thrashed their counterparts 6-0 in a one-sided affair in Douala in round two of the qualifiers.
Flamingos rout Central African Republic
The explosive encounter took place at the Stade Ominsport Douala, with the Flamingos proving to be just too good and strong for their hosts.
Moshood Shakirat Abidemi was the star of the showing after she netted an excellent hat-trick to inspire the Flamingos.
Etim Edidiong opened the floodgate with her first goal of the day before Prisca Nwachukwu made it 2-0 after just 38 minutes.
Hat-trick hero Abidemi then netted a quickfire double to hand Nigeria a comfortable 4-0 lead at the break.

In the second period, Edidiong got her second goal of the day to make it 5-0 before the remarkable Shakirat completed her hattrick to round off a dominant display and put Nigeria in pole position to advance to the 2024 U17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
The Central African Republic booked a date with the Nigerian Flamingos after the withdrawal of Mauritius due to financial reasons.
The Flamingos are looking to return to the FIFA U17 WWC after making it to the semifinals the last in India, where they narrowly lost 5-4 on penalties to Colombia.
