Nike reportedly set to open first-ever Michael Jordan store in U.S

The city of Philadelphia is set to become the home of the first Michael Jordan-branded store in the United States.

The iconic "World of Flight" store, synonymous with the Jordan Brand's legacy, is reportedly set to pitch its tent in the historic "City of Brotherly Love,” as per a report from Sports Illustrated.

The store will reportedly be opening at 1617 Walnut St., a building dating back to 1921.

The establishment of this store certainly marks a milestone for both Nike and Philadelphia.

According to the application sent by Nike to the Philadelphia Historical Commission, the company drew inspiration from the city's rich architectural heritage, with an aim to blending historical aesthetics with the cutting-edge ethos of the Jordan Brand.

Described as a fusion of Philadelphia's historical architecture and the essence of Jordan Brand, the design concept is expected  to deliver a space that seamlessly blends into the local streetscape while offering a contemporary retail experience.

With Nike leveraging on clean design language and meticulous attention to detail, the store aims to convey a sense of history and permanence

According to the aforementioned outlet, there is already a sprawling 7,000 square feet at Nike’s disposal.

The Jordan Brand intends to create a captivating showcase for its legendary sneakers and apparel.
