The Gusii FC fixture against Kajiado grabbed much attention after the game was postponed due to inclement weather on Saturday.

The heavy downpour experienced at the Simeon Nyachae Stadium turned into a fully-fledged deluge minutes before the kickoff.

Match officials had to push the game to Sunday at the same venue, with the kickoff set for 10 am.

However, a handful of fans pitched up for the rescheduled match, where Gusii emerged victorious courtesy of a 78th-minute goal netted by Kevin Olanda.

The win pushed Gusii to sixth place on the log while Kajiado dropped to second from bottom.

At the same venue, the 10-man Silibwet Leons held table-leaders Shabana FC to a goalless draw in a late kickoff.

Shabana came closest to opening the scoring when Isaac Otiles' deflected free-kick struck the right post in the first half, with the two teams having to settle for a point apiece.

Shabana remains on top of the table with 39 points, while Silibwet Leons remain 17th.

Meanwhile, Darajani Gogo missed the chance to leapfrog their opponents of the day, Murang'a Seal into the second spot as they fell 1-0 at Camp Toyoyo Grounds.

At the Ligi Dogo Grounds, Kibera Black Stars proved too strong for SS Assad as they claimed an impressive 2-0 win to move third.

Man-of-the-Match John Njoroge scored the opener in the 20th minute, with Haril Gil scoring the second goal six minutes into the second half.

Elsewhere, Migori Youth and Kisumu All Stars also played out to a goalless draw at the Migori Stadium.

On Saturday, the day's first match was between Coastal Heroes and Vihiga United at Mbaraki Sports Club.

The much-anticipated clash between the two sides showed why there was a lot of hype going into the game, as it delivered a seven-goal thriller.

Vihiga's talisman Amas Kagadi was at his best as he scored a hat trick. Mark Okolo was also on target for the visitors, as Ramadhan Salim's goal and Ramadan Mwanzia's brace were not enough to save Coastal Heros from defeat.
