Odion Ighalo scores as Al Wehda beat Al Faisaly to reach the Kings Cup of Champions round of 16.

Super Eagles of Nigeria star Odion Ighalo is back among the goals in Saudi Arabia.

Ighalo was on target as Al Wehda defeated Al Faisaly in a Saudi Arabia King Cup of Champions round of 32 fixture played on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

In a very tight game, there would be no goals scored in the first half.

After the break, Al Wehda then brought in Ighalo for Morad Mohammed Abdullah Khodari.

Shortly after Al Faisaly went in front when Lucas Viera de Souza converted a ball through to him by Guedes in the 48th minute.

Ighalo would grab the equalizer in the 51st minute assisted by Alaeli.

There were no further goals in the game as they proceeded to a penalty shootout after extra time.

Ighalo set the tone for the penalty shootout by scoring to put Al Wehda in front.

The home side would win 4-2 in the shootout and advance to the round of 16.

The goal for Ighalo comes after he was stifled by William Troost Ekong in Al Wehda's previous encounter against Al Kholood.
