Odur, Bida among eight new signings at Onduparaka
Onduparaka FC has confirmed an array of signings as head coach Steven Bogere reshapes his squad for the new restart of the second round of the league.
Eight new signings have been confirmed as they prepare for the resumption of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, on Saturday.
After a frenetic and underwhelming January transfer window, Bogere managed to secure the services of veteran striker Tony Odur among his new acquisitions.
Odur has been without a club since leaving third division side Katwe United in 2021, but he comes in with a lot of experience to Onduparaka’s forward line that has scored only nine goals in 14 league games.
Odur emerged as a late option for the Caterpillars after a deal to sign another experienced forward Geofrey Sserunkuuma fell through at the final hour.
Ezra Bida has had a spell previously at the Caterpillars before, and the midfielder returning to the Greenlight Stadium after spells at Kyetume FC and lately with South Sudanese side Atlabara FC.
Gama William from Malalia, Hood Kakooza, Faruku Samari, Okello Anthony Mathias, Nyanga Stephen and Mandela Aziz Malish are the other new signings.
Disappointingly, Onduparaka lost goalkeeper and captain Mathias Muwanga who mutually terminated his contract.
The club as also sent four players on loan, two of those joining fellow top flight side UPDF including Munir Saidi and Aluma Oscar Lele while Asiimwe Kenneth has joined Calvary on loan.
Onduparaka is currently bottom of the SUPL, and have collected only seven points from 14 games, winning only one game during that period.
They resume their fight for survival with a home tie against URA FC on Saturday.
