Omedi shrugs off competition from Shaban, Dhata for Fortebet Real Stars Award

Kitara FC striker Denis Omedi has been named the Player of the Month for February at the Fortebet Real Stars Awards.

Omedi beat KCCA FC forward Muhammad Shaban and NEC FC defender Joseph Dhata to the accolade.

He put up an impressive performance throughout the month as the Royals won all the games they played.

Omedi scored five goals in four appearances in all competitions in February.

He bagged a hat trick as the table leaders defeated UPDF FC 3-0 in Bombo before a goal apiece in the 1-0 victories over KCCA, and Wakiso Giants FC in the Uganda Premier League.

Omedi was also on the scoresheet as the Pride of Bunyoro beat Gaddafi FC 2-0 to advanced to the Round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup a tournament were they have already reached the quarterfinals.

Outstanding performers from Rugby, Rally, and Kabadi were also rewarded at Lazio Restaurant in Kampala on Tuesday.

Emily Lekuru, Jas Mangat, and Douglas Mulalira were awarded in Rugby, Rally, and Kabadi, respectively.
