Paul Onuachu was at his brilliant best, as his brace was among the goals in Genk’s 4-0 routing of RFC Seraing.

The league leaders hosted the team farthest from them on the table at the Cegeka Arena as they looked to extend their lead on the chasing pack. They found an easy opposition in Seraing, who barely put up a fight against the much superior home side.

Onuachu and Paintsil on target for Genk

Onuachu grabbed the game's first goal as early as the 7th minute when Genk were awarded a penalty. The Nigeria international made no mistake from the spot, striking confidently past Guillaume Diestsch in goal for Seraing.

Burundi-eligible winger Mike Tresor grabbed the game's second goal seven minutes later off Bilal El Khannous’ assist.

Tresor turned provider for the third, setting up Onuachu, who tapped into an open goal from close range on the hour mark.

Onuachu grabs a brace in Genk's victory

Black Stars’ Joseph Paintsil rounded up the goal-fest, grabbing the fourth goal of the game in the 64th minute, four minutes after his fellow West African scored the third.

The Nigerian and Ghanaian leading Genks title charge

Genk are the Belgian Pro League leader, six points clear of second place Union Saint-Gilloise. Their title charge has been led by their Nigerian talisman, Onuachu, who is the club’s top scorer with sixteen goals, eight more than the next best.

The next best for Genk is Paintsil, with eight goals. The Ghanaian is also the second assist maker for Genk with nine, six behind Mike Tresor’s 15.
