The Nigeria National League (NNL) debutants, Madiba FC started their campaign in the Nigerian second-tier league with an impressive win after they defeated Ekiti United 3-0.

The Nationwide League One champion thrashed NNL Landlord at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Onikan, Lagos, on Tuesday.

The hosts started their debut in the NNL after the hosts broke the deadlock when Ewodage Abubakar converted through his header from a Ndubisi Anthony free kick in the 30th minute.

Solomon Aliu converted from the spot to double the lead for Oshodi Boys in the 78th minute.

Egbonwon Harrison sealed the victory for Madiba in the few minutes of the game.

Madiba FC head coach, Solomon Bala revealed that his players listened to his instructions, which made the victory possible.

“My boys listened to instruction. I told them what to do, and they did it, and we got the victory,” said coach Bala.

Meanwhile, Madiba will travel to Sagamu on Saturday for their matchday-two encounter against FC Ebedie.

In other results, Ikorodu City defeated Ebedei FC 3-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena with their captain Tosin at the double.
