Osimhen's Napoli to battle Arsenal for Super Eagles 20-goal attacker

Napoli have reportedly set its sights on Nigerian international Ademola Lookman as a prime target to bolster their attacking options, particularly with the anticipated departure of star striker Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray.

The Serie A giants are preparing for a big cash injection from Osimhen's impending transfer and are looking to strengthen both their wide and central attacking positions.

According to Sky Sport, Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman is high on Napoli's radar.

Lookman's stock has soared since his sensational hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final, a performance that captivated European football.

The 27-year-old is under contract with Atalanta until 2027 and is currently valued at approximately €50 million (£43m/$49m).

Napoli is reportedly interested in bringing the dazzling winger to fill the void that would be left by the departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG.

However, the Partenopei are not alone in the chase for Lookman's signature. Premier League side Arsenal have long admired the Nigerian and are exploring the option to bring him back to England, while West Ham and Atletico Madrid are also said to be monitoring his situation.

Despite strong interest from English clubs, reports suggest that Lookman is currently not interested in a return to the Premier League, which could provide a big advantage for Napoli in securing his services.
