The former champions dominated the match from start to finish but struggled to convert their chances, with hitherto reliable striker Godwin Obaje notably squandering three clear opportunities for the Flying Antelopes.

The Peace Boys from Jos, under new coach Shola Adegun, remained dangerous on the counterattack but failed to capitalise on their limited chances.

The home side continued to control the game but had to wait until the 80th minute to double their lead, with Chidiebere Nwobodo netting a well-earned second goal.

In total, Rangers created an impressive 14 chances compared to just two for Plateau United, who have now lost their first three matches of the season.

Despite the inefficiency in front of goal, Rangers’ dominance and late goals secured all three points, revitalizing the team’s campaign and delighting their home fans.

Plateau United, meanwhile, face mounting pressure to turn their fortunes around as they continue to seek their first win under Adegun’s management.

It gets tougher for United, who face a daunting task next weekend when they host defending champions Remo Stars in Jos, with Rangers taking on Kano Pillars in Kano.
