Players are starting to click - KCCA coach Abdallah Mubiru

KCCA FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru is starting to feel his players are beginning to gel with his tactics and mount a fight back from the Uganda Premier League relegation ruins.

The team was back to their best as they walloped Gaddafi FC 6-1 in their most recent game at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

As they face a somewhat more complicated test in Mbarara City FC at the Kakyeka Stadium on Wednesday, Mubiru is optimistic his players will have the belief and confidence to grind positive results.

"Players are now beginning to believe in themselves, to feel that they can probably do some good work," Mubiru said ahead of the meeting.

"It's another test for us (against Mbarara City), and these are challenges that make us grow bigger in terms of confidence."

Trips to Kakyeka don't come easy for any team, as the hosts have only lost once on their turf this season. They have also picked one win and three stalemates, but Mubiru knows his team can manoeuvre.

"Because the more we face those challenges, we grow, and everyone is happy; no one is afraid of facing a challenge. Everyone is ready and prepared."

KCCA hasn't won at Kakyeka in the league before, and dating back to 2017, four of their five meetings have ended in stalemates, while Mbarara won the other.

Meanwhile KCCA occupy the final relegation spot in the 14th place with seven points, while Mbarara sit 12th with eight.
