PSG already lining Up replacement for Manchester United target
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering a move for PSV Eindhoven's midfielder Jerdy Schouten as they anticipate the potential departure of Manuel Ugarte, who is being targeted by Manchester United.
PSG eyeing Schouten as midfield target
According to L'Equipe, Schouten has caught PSG's attention following his impressive performances for PSV and a strong showing at the 2024 European Championships with the Netherlands.
The Dutch midfielder only joined PSV last summer from Bologna for €12 million and has been a standout player, featuring in 40 games across all competitions.

The possible exits of Manuel Ugarte and Xavi Simons could prompt PSG to bolster their midfield options, with the Uruguayan linked with a move to Manchester United, while the Netherlands international is set to return to Leipzig.
To address these potential departures, PSG is not only considering Schouten but is also reportedly close to securing Joao Neves from Benfica.
PSG hoping to sell Ugarte to finance transfers
PSG's transfer activity will have to involve freeing up space in their squad, particularly in midfield if they are to bring on more midfielders.

The club's sporting director, Luis Campos, has noted the need to sell players to make room for new signings and the departure of Ugarte would facilitate the acquisition of Schouten and possibly Joao Neves, as the club looks to keep the team in balance.
The decision to pursue another midfielder will likely also depend on the completion of Joao Neves' transfer, as PSG seeks to strengthen their midfield depth for the upcoming season.
