Manchester United made sure there was no comeback story for Real Betis as they ran out 1-0 winners at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, thanks to a solo strike by the red-hot Marcus Rashford.

How it happened
Manchester United won the first leg 4-1 at Old Trafford but manager, Erik ten Hag sent out a strong enough team to dismiss any complacency.
Marcus Rashford started on the left and caused havoc early on with his direct running.
Betis boss, Manuel Pellegrini insisted the tie was not over yet and to his credit, his side showed some fight in the opening exchanges.

They were unlucky not to go ahead when Joaquin, now 41, struck the post with a speculative 25-yard strike. It would have been some goal but the post came to De Gea's rescue.
At the opposite end, January loan signing, Wout Weghorst, was unable to turn home Facundo Pellistri’s mishit shot with the goal gaping and so the game remained goalless at the break despite the open nature of the first half.
Second half action
The second half saw less goal-mouth action than the first but United finally broke the deadlock just before the hour mark.

Marcus Rashford fired a thunderbolt into the far corner for his 27th goal of the season, all but securing United’s safe passage into the next round. Betis performed admirably but this was a step too far and Ten Hag's Red Devils continue their chase for a treble.
