Relief for KCCA as injury-laden skipper Poloto resumes training after months out
KCCA FC captain Julius Poloto has resumed training with the team after a long spell on the sidelines through injuries.
Massively talented, yet he is always set aback by one injury after the other, to limit his time on the pitch.
Poloto last played for KCCA in November last year as they beat Vipers SC 3-1, a match that marked the club's first win of the season, having failed in the previous six tries (five defeats).
On that occasion, he lasted just 19 minutes, as he agonizingly got withdrawn for Etienne Katenga Openga.
The last time he managed a whole 90 minutes was under former head coach Sergio Traguil, as KCCA suffered a 1-0 defeat to BUL FC. That was their first game of the season.
Across the Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup and CAF Confederation Cup, Poloto has played just two games this season, managing 109 minutes.
Across the last four seasons (including the current), the 24-year-old has played 44 league games, scoring nine times.
His return from injury comes as a huge boost for KCCA, who are aiming at making a strong finish to the campaign.
They lie sixth on the league table with 35 points, nine behind leaders Kitara FC, while they are also in the quarterfinals of the Uganda Cup where they battle BUL FC on Saturday.
