Reports: KCCA agree terms to sign former Vipers goalkeeper
Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC have closed in on the signing of goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugolofa, as per sources at the club.
Reliable sources have intimated to this website that Kasasiro Boys and the custodian have agreed to a two-year employment contract, pending signing and unveiling.
KCCA's goalkeeping department has struggled this season and have failed to get a consistent performer in between the sticks.
They've been forced to alternate with the likes of Derrick Ochan, Joel Emojong and youngster Juma Mutebi.
In the first half of the 2023/24 UPL season, KCCA have conceded 23 goals in just 15 games.
Only three teams, including Arua Hill SC (33), Gadaffi FC (28) and Busoga United (26), have conceded more.
Meanwhile, Mugolofa has recently been at Jinja North United in the FUFA Big League, a side he joined after departing UPL champions Vipers SC.
He is also a product of Vipers' main feeder side, St Mary's Secondary School Kitende (SMASK), a side he led to multiple championships.
The 23-year-old has previously had loan stints at Mbarara City FC and Kyetume FC.
Upon unveiling, Mugolofa will join as a former Uganda Premier League winner, having been part of Vipers' winning team in the 2021/22 season.
