Reports: New details of Cromwell Rwothomio's contract talks with NEC emerge
Uganda Premier League outfit NEC Football Club is yet to settle the contract situation of their star talisman Cromwell Rwothomio.
As he signed for the army side in the preseason transfer window, a clause was inserted in his contract, permitting an exit in the January transfer window.
As a result, the club and the player have intensified talks and negotiations to ensure he stays for a further two seasons.
However, in case of any extension, Rwothomio's preference is six months, as per trusted sources close to the player and the club.
Other clubs, including UPDF FC, have made contact with the player, but nothing has yet to be decided.
Since departing Vipers SC, Rwothomio has rediscovered his scoring boots and is currently the club's topscorer with six goals in 11 league appearances.
Besides NEC and Vipers, Rwothomio has also featured for URA FC, where he made his loudest noise.
With the Tax Collectors, he netted 35 Uganda Premier League goals in 67 appearances across three and a half seasons.
Meanwhile, after the first round, NEC sit seventh with 24 points on the 16-team log.
