Sha'Carri Richardsons wins back-to-back US 100m title in world-leading time to seal Paris Olympic ticket

Another glorious moment for Sha'Carri Richardson at the USATF Olympic Trials, winning the 100m title in an outstanding world-leading 10.71s to punch her ticket to Paris.

The world's fastest woman had her best start of all her rounds at the trials, blazing off to the finish line with no challenging response from the rest of the field.

She inspired her training mates Melissa Jefferson, who clocked a brilliant Personal Best (PB) of 10.80s to finish second and Tee Tee Twanisha Terry with her best performance of the season in 10.89s for third place, as the trio are heading to the Olympics for the first time in their careers.

Richardson's domineering time is her second-fastest career performance behind her world title-winning performance of 10.65s in Budapest last year.

In addition, she has now won the US 100m title for the third time - her first in 2021 to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics, but was later on suspended for the use of Marijuana in her system which hindered her debut at the Games.

Her second victory was her groundbreaking comeback last year to announce her famous mantra 'I'm not back, I'm better', eventually having an iconic season that saw her rise to the top of women's sprinting and become the face of track and field.

Richardson's successful title defense is only a step in the right direction of the big goal in Paris, which is to overcome her Jamaican rivals and become the US first Olympic champion for the first time in 26 years.
