Shameful, ungrateful — Atalanta fans respond to Ademola Lookman's transfer request
Atalanta supporters group have released a strong statement through a banner, targeted at Ademola Lookman, after the Nigeria international officially handed in his transfer request.
Lookman's transfer request
As Pulse Sports reported, Lookman has officially submitted a formal transfer request to leave Atalanta, citing broken promises and poor treatment from the Italian club’s management as the main reasons behind his decision.
In a heartfelt statement on Instagram, Lookman expressed the deep emotional connection he has with Atalanta and the city of Bergamo, highlighting memorable moments such as winning the Europa League as some of the proudest achievements of his career.
Atalanta fans express grievances
Shortly after Lookman's post on Instagram, in which he announced that he had tendered his transfer request, some La Dea supporters, alleged to be the Ultras group ‘Forever Atalanta until the end’, unfurled a banner near the club's training ground.
In bold red and black ink, the banner read, “Enough now. Shameful agents and ungrateful players. Respect the supporters who gave you value.”
