Sheryl Botes: South African named new Uganda Women's football team head coach
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations have appointed CAF Instructor of Instructors Sheryl Botes as the new coach for the Senior Women's football team, the Crested Cranes.
The South African joins in on a three-year employment contract, and will also oversee the other Women National Teams (U17 and U20).

She comes in as a direct replacement to interim head coach Charles Ayiekho who took charge of the team's Olympics Qualifiers, falling in the second round to Cameroon, courtesy of a 3-2 aggregate defeat.

Botes is a former head coach of the South African U-20 Women’s National Team, the Basetsana.
She is also formerly the head coach of the SAFA Girls Soccer Academy based at the High Performance Centre (HPC), in Pretoria.
Botes has also previously served as Technical Advisor to former South Africa head coach Desiree Ellis on the Banyana Banyana team (the country's senior women's team).
She boasts a CAF A Coaching licence, underlining the might in her qualifications.
