Silverbacks' trail to Olympics 2024 known

Uganda's National Basketball team, the Silverbacks have learned their opponents of the pre-qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Silverbacks have been pooled in Group A along with West African nations Mali, Senegal and hosts Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Group B has Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Guinea and North African side Tunisia.

The final phase that will be played Lagos, Nigeria between 12-20, August, 2023 has teams that didn't qualify to the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The victor at the Olympics Pre-qualifying tournament will join five teams that made it to the World Cup, to represent Africa.

It's cognizant to note that Angola, South Sudan, Ivory Coast, Egypt and Cape Verde qualified to the world cup. They also automatically made it to the Paris Olympics.
