The result spelt another draw for Livingstone Mbabazi's charges, who were held by Gaddafi FC (0-0) at home turf.

Meanwhile, on the evening, its the hosts that netted first through Erick Kenzo Kambale in the opening half, off a rebound from Karim Watambala's saved effort.

The goal came moments after Bright Stars had missed a glorious opportunity with UPL top-scorer Nelson Senkatuka denied by a top class Jack Komakech save.

Two minutes to the hour-mark, the guests got a deserved leveller with Shafik Kakande tucking in a well-weighted cross from Denis Kaka Umony.

Following the stalemate, Vipers stayed third with 32 points, seven adrift of leaders Kitara FC, who have played two games more.

On the other hand, the point leaves Bright Stars 11th on the 16-team log with 23 points in 19 matches.

Vipers will hope to make amends in their subsequent game when they visit Wakiso Giants FC on March 10.

Two days earlier, Bright Stars will have hosted Mbarara City FC at Kavumba Recreation Center.
