Pep Guardiola is said to be interested in him as a replacement for Ederson, who is linked with a move to Galatasaray; the club appears to be the main club interested in Donnarumma.

What Donnarumma said

Less than 24 hours after PSG announced Donnarumma's omission from the squad for Wednesday's Super Cup match against Tottenham in Udine, the Italian goalkeeper responded.

"To the special fans of Paris, from the first day I arrived, I gave my all, on and off the field, to earn my place and defend the PSG goal. Unfortunately, someone decided I could no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team's success. I'm disappointed and disheartened.

"I hope to have the opportunity to look the Parc des Princes fans in the eye one last time and say a proper goodbye. If that doesn't happen, know that your support and affection mean everything to me and I'll never forget them. I'll always cherish the memories of all the emotions, magical nights, and you, the ones who made me feel at home.

"To my teammates, my second family, thank you for every battle, every laugh, every moment we shared. You will always be my brothers. It was a huge honour to play for this club and live in this city. Thank you, Paris!" wrote Donnarumma, via Sportal.

Donnarumma's message appears to be aimed at manager Luis Enrique, who reportedly criticised his distribution and dropped him from the starting lineup following the €40 million signing of 23-year-old Lucas Chevalier from Lille.

The Italian goalkeeper is seemingly paying the price for refusing a pay cut from his €12.5 million net salary to fit within the wage cap imposed by the Qatari owners, thus entering the final year of his contract.
