Super Eagles duo fire blanks as Nottingham Forest extend winless run vs Wolves
Super Eagles duo of Emmanuel Dennis and Taiwo Awoniyi were in action as Nottingham Forest were held at home by Wolves in the Premier League.
Forest were forced to share the spoils at home as Wolves came from behind to hold them to a 1-1 draw thanks to Daniel Podence.
Brennan Johnson fired the Reds ahead with a smart finish in the first half but they could not hold on as Wolves drew level with seven minutes to go.
Dennis started the game at the City ground while Awoniyi was a second half substitute who came on to play for just four minutes.
No show for Super Eagles duo
It was another day at the office without a goal for the Super Eagles duo of Dennis and Awoniyi in the Premier League.
Dennis started the encounter at the City Ground but only looked lively in the opening hour of the game before he was subbed off.
He created two chances, made two key passes and attempted four shots but was unable to add to his goal tally this season for Forest.
His compatriot at the club, Awoniyi, was only given a cameo show at the City Ground after he played only four minutes.
Awoniyi, who has struggled with injuries this term, came on in the 86th minute and didn't have enough time to make an impact for the Reds.
Forest extend winless run
A late goal from Podence denied the Premier League newbies all three points at home and a first win in the league in seven matches in what was a dominant performance from the away side in a match between two teams battling relegation.
Forest have not won a game since a 1-0 win over Leeds United at home back on February 5.
The latest setback means they have now lost four and drawn three of the last seven which sees them sit 14th on the table but just two points away from the danger zone.
