Tedesco wary of Joe Aribo in RB Leipzig, Rangers Europa League semifinal clash
RB Leipzig manager Domenico Tedesco has listed Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo as one of the dangermen at Rangers.
The Leipzig manager noted that despite high-profile absentees at Rangers, Aribo can step up for Rangers in the forthcoming UEFA Europa League semifinal clash between both clubs.
Aribo has been touted as possibly playing as a striker against RB Leipzig following injuries to Rangers' first-choice strikers Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe.
As reported by Football Scotland, Tedesco admitted that Joe Aribo carries a goal threat for Rangers from an attacking midfield position, possibly filling up for the strikers.
Tedesco said: "They’re similar to Union Berlin, man-orientated, very strong, strong on the wings, they have great individuals.
"For example, Ryan Kent really sticks out. We know that Roofe will miss the game, they can play Aribo as a No.10, he is strong in the half-spaces, and they also have Fashion JR.
The Leipzig manager also stated that Rangers have been a quality team in the Europa League this season, pointing out that they eliminated German side Borussia Dortmund.
"It’s a semi-final, If you achieve this target you can be sure that you are a strong team," Tedesco explained.
"They lost six matches in Europe but you have to look at how they lost, who did they beat?
"They eliminated Dortmund which tells us it all. We are aware of their qualities, they’re physically strong and always match their opponents.
Joe Aribo was influential in getting Rangers to the semifinals of the Europa League, assisting two of the three goals Rangers scored in the 3-1 second-leg victory over Braga.
The Super Eagles midfielder has scored eight (8) goals and created 10 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
RB Leipzig host Rangers at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, Germany on Thursday, April 28 for the first leg of the Europa League semifinal fixture.
