Time and where to watch Nigeria's Flying Eagles face Dominican Republic
Prior to their debut match against the Dominican Republic at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Nigeria's under-20 squad, known as the Flying Eagles, landed in Mendoza, Argentina.
On Thursday, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) tweeted a confirmation of the team's arrival.
On Sunday, Ladan Bosso's team will play their first Group D match against the newcomers.
The second match between the seven-time African champions and Italy will also take place in Mendoza.
In La Plata, the Flying Eagles' last group game will be against the five-time winners, Brazil.
Time for Nigeria vs Dominican Republic kick-off
On Sunday, May 21, 2023, Nigeria and the Dominican Republic will face off in a group-stage match at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza.
Flying Eagles
Nigeria has finished second in the U20 World Cup twice, most recently in 2005, however in each of their past three tournament appearances, they have been dismissed in the round of 16.
After placing third in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in March, when the four semifinalists won tickets to Argentina, the Flying Eagles qualified for this year's World Cup.
Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is now competing in the U20 World Cup for the first time after making an unexpected run to the championship of the 2022 CONCACAF U20 competition.
