Stone City Sevens' most valuable player Timothy Kisiga has attributed their success in the first leg of the Nile Special 7s to teamwork and motivation from winning the Premiership.

Kisiga whizzed through his opponents like an experienced sea-robber to emerge top try scorer as well as the MVP but says their greatest strength lies in team bonding.

“Our strength lies in teamwork because we have a younger team that has been together for a while now,” Kisiga told Pulse Sports.

Double

The victory set the pace for the remaining circuits as everyone plans to gun down the league champions.

Kisiga reveals that is one of their inspirations as they seek to exert their dominance with a double this season.

“We have to work harder because everyone is looking at us because of the league triumph. We also want this trophy, but that means we have to push harder for it,” he added.

The current team will look to emulate the 2018 squad that won the team their first league and sevens titles.
