Transfer: Super Eagles star set to join Osimhen at Galatasaray following Icardi’s injury

Orban has struggled to hit the ground running at Lyon following his winter transfer move in 2024 on a four-year contract. 

His poor performance has led to his name being included in Lyon’s transfer list as the team looks to solve their financial problems.

Furthermore, due to financial issues, Lyon has been relegated to the French Ligue 2 for next season.

According to A Spor, Galatasaray are looking to replace Icardi with Super Eagles forward Gift Orban in January.

The Argentine attacker tore his right ACL during Galatasaray's match against Tottenham, and his departure has placed Victor Osimhen in charge of the offensive division.

Due to Icardi's injury, Galatasaray's offensive line is now vulnerable, and Orban, due to his outstanding play, is a major target for the Turkish powerhouses.

The 22-year-old attacker is expected to play in Okan Buruk's two-forward system alongside his compatriot Osimhen.

Orban, known for his clinical finishing and ability to link up well with teammates, is seen as the ideal partner to complement Osimhen, who has been a standout for both club and country.
