Troost Ekong celebrates Nigeria’s World Cup playoff ticket with 24-karat gold-plated iPhone worth over ₦8 million
The defender was in action for Nigeria during the international break and played in the 2-1 win against Lesotho, scoring the opening goal from the penalty spot.
However, he was an unused substitute in the Super Eagles' 4-0 thrashing of Benin Republic to secure a World Cup playoff.
Ekong flaunts a gold-plated iPhone
Ekong has revealed his latest luxury purchase, a custom 24-karat gold-plated iPhone he recently bought.
The defender shared an image of the new device on social media. The phone is personalised with his name and jersey number, 5, engraved on the back.
While the iPhone 17 has not yet been released by Apple, high-end custom versions of the latest models are often available from luxury designers.
Such exclusive devices can command prices ranging from approximately $4,600 to $8,000 (₦7 million – 12.5 million).
This acquisition highlights the financial rewards of Troost-Ekong's move to the Saudi Pro League last year.
The 30-year-old centre-back joined Al-Okhdood, where he reportedly earns a significant salary, allowing for such extravagant purchases.
