Troy Deeney explains nearly killing Odion Ighalo for Manchester United
Former England forward Troy Deeney has revealed a situation in Watford involving Odion Ighalo.
Deeney explained he had a heated reaction to Ighalo's performance during a Manchester United match in 2016, while both were at Watford.
Deeney recounted an incident where Ighalo, a lifelong Manchester United fan, took eight shots during the game instead of passing to Deeney for potentially easier scoring opportunities.
This decision frustrated Deeney to the point where, after the match, he expressed a desire to "kill" Ighalo.
Ighalo was on loan at Manchester United in early 2020, returning to the Premier League after a stint in China with Shanghai Shenhua.

His move to United was driven by his childhood dream of playing for the club, which added context on his eagerness to score against Manchester United back in 2016.
Deeney's reaction was not just about the missed opportunities as he felt that Ighalo's decisions were selfish.

He said, "Iggy was a Man United fan.
"In the game, he had 8 shots. Of those 8, he could have passed to 2 other people 5 times.
"He's a Man United fan, want to score against his boyhood team. Totally get it.
"On that day, it's a Tuesday night game. I'll never forget it.
"We walked to the thingy and everyone who walked past me was like, Don't kill him."
Deeney then stated that he forgave Ighalo, and they maintained a friendship after their time at Watford.
