UCA spice up Cricket World Cup trophy tour with Helicopter travel

The Uganda Cricket Association is going all out as they prepare to receive the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup trophy.

The local cricket governing body confirmed the trophy tour itinerary, including a visit to the state house with the President H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Parliament of Uganda.

According to Denis Musali, the Uganda Cricket Association media manager, the trophy, which arrives on Saturday, will be flown around in a helicopter for all the fans to get a good experience.

The trophy is also expected to visit Jinja, one of Uganda’s leading tourism districts, and Musali adds that the aim is to promote sports tourism and inspire the youngsters at the school cricket week.

“Jinja is one of the best tourist sites in Uganda. We thought promoting sports tourism would be a great idea, but we also hope to inspire the youngsters as the schools cricket week will get underway at Jinja SS this Sunday,” Musali noted.

The trophy will conclude its tour to Uganda on 29th August 2023.
