Uganda Premier League fixtures set for release

The Startimes Uganda Premier League secretariat has announced they will release fixtures for the forthcoming season later on Wednesday.

It's after a long wait that was coupled with a public outcry, questioning the delayed release despite the season being less than a month away.

It should be noted that the2023/24 Uganda Premier League season is slated to kick off on Saturday, September 15th.

While the fixture is yet to be outed, like the norm is, the defending champions who Vipers SC, are set to play the opening match with a yet-to-be identified team.

Last season, the Venoms opened the season with a dull barren stalemate with Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

Currently, last season's top eight teams are playing a precursor tournament, the FUFA Super 8, with BUL FC already making the final, having tamed SC Villa on penalties in the semi-final.

The competition is set to be stiffer next season with almost teams bolstering their playing and coaching personnel throughout preseason.
